Benjamin Tree Farm has a long-standing history rooted in family, hard work, and a love for the land. The farm’s story began in 1986, when Bill and Doris, along with their daughter Heather and her husband Leon Demaiter, came together to plant their first Christmas trees. What began as a family project would grow into a much-loved family business and an important part of the local community.
In those early years, Bill, Doris, Heather, and Leon worked together to establish the Christmas tree fields and care for the young trees as they grew. Year after year, the farm continued to develop, creating a place where families could enjoy the tradition of selecting and taking home a fresh Christmas tree. Their dedication and hard work laid the foundation for what Benjamin Tree Farm has become today.
In 2009, Bill and Doris retired, marking an important transition for the farm. At the same time, Benjamin Tree Farm relocated to an adjacent property across the road, providing the space needed to continue growing the family business. Today, the farm is managed by the next generation of the family, with nephew Patrick, along with Gerard and his wife Sarah, carrying on the family tradition and continuing to build upon the vision established in 1986.
While Christmas trees remain at the heart of Benjamin Tree Farm, the farm has continued to grow and offer new experiences for families throughout the year. In 2020, the farm introduced its pumpkin patch, creating a new fall tradition for visitors of all ages. What started as an addition to the farm has grown into a fun-filled fall experience, with families invited to explore the pumpkin patch and choose their perfect pumpkin.
The pumpkin patch has become a place where families can slow down, spend time together, and enjoy the sights and sounds of fall on the farm. Throughout the season, Benjamin Tree Farm offers a variety of family-friendly activities, events, photo opportunities, workshops, and seasonal experiences.
In 2024, Benjamin Tree Farm introduced another exciting chapter in its history with the launch of our agritourism adventure camp program. The camp was created to give children an opportunity to experience life on the farm while learning about agriculture, nature, animals.
Our summer camp is designed to be both educational and hands-on, allowing campers to learn by doing. Throughout the week, campers have the opportunity to explore different aspects of farming and gain a better understanding of how plants grow and where food comes from.
The goal of the summer camp is to create an environment where children can learn, explore, get outside, make new friends, and develop an appreciation for farming and the land. Each camp experience combines education with plenty of fun, giving campers memories and experiences they can take home with them.
From planting the first Christmas trees in 1986 to welcoming families for pumpkins, events, workshops, and summer camp, Benjamin Tree Farm continues to evolve while staying true to its family roots. Today, the farm is more than a place to grow Christmas trees—it is a destination where people can connect with agriculture, enjoy the outdoors, celebrate the seasons, and make memories together.
With each new generation, Benjamin Tree Farm continues to build on the hard work of those who came before them. What began with Bill, Doris, Heather, and Leon planting Christmas trees has grown into a multi-generational family farm that continues to welcome the community year after year.
