Benjamin Tree Farm has grown from a small family project into a place where generations of families come together to enjoy the seasons, experience the farm, and make memories.
The story began in 1986, when Bill and Doris, along with their daughter Heather and her husband Leon Demaiter, planted their first Christmas trees. Together, they worked to establish the fields, care for the young trees, and build a farm that would become an important part of their family and the local community.
Over the years, the Christmas tree fields grew, and so did the tradition of welcoming families to the farm each holiday season. The dedication and care put into those early years created the foundation for Benjamin Tree Farm today.
In 2009, Bill and Doris retired, marking the beginning of a new chapter. The farm also moved to its current location on the adjacent property across the road, giving the business room to grow. Today, the farm is operated by the next generation, with Heather and Leon’s son, Gerard, his wife Sarah, and nephew Patrick continuing the family tradition.
While Christmas trees will always be at the heart of Benjamin Tree Farm, the farm has continued to grow and change with the seasons.
In 2020, we introduced our pumpkin patch, bringing a new fall tradition to the farm. What began as a small addition has grown into a much-loved autumn experience, where families can wander farm, choose their perfect pumpkin, enjoy seasonal activities, and take in the sights and sounds of the farm.
Fall at Benjamin Tree Farm includes family-friendly activities, events, photo opportunities, workshops, and plenty of opportunities to simply enjoy time together outdoors.
In 2024, Benjamin Tree Farm opened another new chapter with the introduction of our agritourism adventure camp. The program was created to give children the opportunity to experience farm life firsthand while discovering more about agriculture, nature, animals, and the outdoors.
Our camps are hands-on and built around learning through experience. Campers get the chance to explore the farm, see where food comes from, discover how plants grow, interact with animals, and take part in activities that bring agriculture to life.
Most importantly, we want camp to be a place where children can explore, get outside, make friends, learn something new, and have fun. Every week is designed to give campers experiences they will remember long after they leave the farm.
From planting those first Christmas trees in 1986 to welcoming families for pumpkins, Christmas trees, events, workshops, and summer camps, Benjamin Tree Farm has continued to grow while remaining true to its roots.
Today, the farm is more than a place to grow trees. It is a place to enjoy the outdoors, experience agriculture, celebrate the seasons, and make memories together.
What began with Bill, Doris, Heather, and Leon planting Christmas trees has grown into a multi-generational family farm that continues to welcome the community year after year.
